How to start Quran with a young child
The best first step is not a book. It is a routine. Choose a small daily window when your child is rested, and keep it short, ten to fifteen minutes is plenty at age four or five.
Begin with letter sounds rather than names, and let your child hear the correct pronunciation from a teacher before attempting it alone. Young ears pick up sounds quickly when they are modelled slowly and clearly.
Celebrate small wins. Reading one new letter, or joining two, is real progress. Avoid comparing with siblings or cousins, and keep the Quran associated with calm and warmth.
Finally, find a teacher your child likes. Comfort matters more than speed at this age. A relaxed learner remembers more and wants to come back tomorrow.
